How to: get your protein in, on a sneaky way

How to: get your protein in, on a sneaky way

If you love your protein powder and can drink it with just water, it's awesome! but to be honest, sometimes I need some other ingredients to make it even better.

We are lucky enough that we have options when it comes to protein powders. There are good and not so good ones. Some taste really good and some don't. And sometimes, we give up some little pleasures to drink our protein.  Some of those little pleasures aren't exactly the healthiest ones. I am guilty when it comes to chai latte's, but how much sugar and fake flavors are in it!? Too many! And don't get me started on Frappuccino’s.

I found a way for me to still enjoy those little pleasures and still get my protein in, without having to eat tons of food when I don't feel hungry, plus they taste so good it feel like I am having dessert all the time.

If you have seen this before, I hope I can remind you how amazing it is, and if you haven't, what are you waiting for!?? Run to your kitchen and make it NOW!

PROATS: They are just heaven. I love oats, and I think everyone knows it. I fell even more in love with them when I mixed it up with protein. My go-to oats are overnight steel cut oats, it makes a big batch without milk or added sugars. I add ½ scoop of vanilla or chocolate vega protein, banana and sometimes flax meal. So good! But also, my other favorite go-to overnight oats recipe is:

  •  ½ cup of rolled oats
  • 1 scoop of vega protein
  •  ¼ cup of berries
  • 1 tbsp. of cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. of chia seeds
  • 1 cup of water.
  •  Mix all ingredients in a bowl and save it overnight in a mason jar or container.

Because it has protein, it makes it creamier so you don’t need milk. The chia seeds also help to make it thicker.

CEREAL: whatttt? Yeah, in cereal! My favorite childhood cereal was cocoa krispies, the chocolate milk at the end of the cereal was the best. Especially with very cold milk! As a “grown up” and especially as someone that avoids added sugars, cocoa krispies are not an option, however, if you mix one cup of nut milk (almond is my favorite!) with a scoop of protein powder, again vanilla and chocolate are the best!, and mix it up with your cereal, boom! You will get an amazing breakfast. I shared my favorite cereal here. (Add cereal link)

PROCCINO: I completely made this up! It is Frappuccino Protein. A few months ago, I found out from an instagramer I follow that coffee and chocolate protein made the perfect latte. But now that is getting warmer and ice coffee season is coming I had to find my ice coffee recipe.  Here it is for you!

  • 1 cup of brewed black coffee
  • ½ cup of nut milk
  • Ice – I used like 8-10 ice cubes!
  • 1 scoop of vega chocolate protein and greens or your choice
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  •  Blend all together and done!

Let me know if you like them! And what do you do to add protein in your diet!

Enjoy!

Xx
