Morning Rituals

A few days ago I decided to share a small part of my morning rituals on instagram and be more open about it with few close people to me. I didn’t think I would create an impact on some of you but I am beyond happy I did! Now, you and me, and your family will experience the benefits of natural detoxing.

Most of us, and I hope tons of us; drink at least one glass of water after waking up. Then some of you will probably get a coffee to “wake up” and if you like working out maybe you will hit the gym or meditate. Then you will hit work and at some point breakfast.

Now, think what happens to your body, you haven’t eaten anything in like 6-8 hours and the first thing you put in it is caffeine. Yes, you will feel the boost and the energy, but in the long run you will get used to it, you will feel a decrease in energy after a few hours and then you will be having 3-4 cups of coffee to get through your day. Then you will ask yourself why are you always so tired if you eat healthy and workout!

That was me for a long time.

I walked through downtown this morning and at least 90% of the people had a cup of coffee on their hand!

I don’t think coffee is evil, but I do believe I am and maybe you are addicted to it.

Coffee does have a million benefits when consuming it but also is highly addictive.

We decided to changed it up and give our body a break from caffeine first thing in the morning.

Our morning rituals changed to be to able detox our body naturally, that way all the nutrients we are consuming can go directly into our cells instead of being blocked by all the toxins left in our body from highly processed food.

Here are the four key morning rituals that will help you detox your body and feel 100% better

1.     DITCH THAT MORNING COFFEE.

Very clear and simple, do not drink coffee first thing in the morning. Do yourself and me a favor and do not have it. Instead, get up and move around a bit for your blood to start moving through your body. That way you will start feeling more awake. Take a shower and drink water.

2.     DRINK ONE TO TWO LITERS OF WATER.

Yes, that much. In reality, you need 1 liter per 22 kgs of bodyweight. Not counting the water you are sweating. The fact is, water first thing in the morning will fire up your metabolism. You are dehydrated when you wake up; you just went 7-8 hours without drinking water. It will help your body flush out toxins, even those that have been storage in your body for years.

Make sure you have that water bottle next to your bed before going to bed, that way you can just roll over and drink it. No excuses!

3.     ADD CHIA SEEDS

One tablespoon in one glass of water and that is it. Because of their gel like nature, chia seeds will take all those leftover toxins with them. They don’t taste like anything really and it's easy to drink them with water.

Chia seeds are often referred to as a “superfood,” which simply means they’re relatively denser in nutrients compared to other foods. These seeds have around 140 calories per two tablespoons, along with a healthy dose of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein. They also contain all nine essential amino acids, which are the muscle-building protein building blocks our bodies need but don’t produce naturally—we have to get them through our food.  Try this chia pudding

4.     DRINK YOUR GREENS

You see me posting about this too much, but I can’t tell you enough how important it is to get your greens in. The recommended intake of fruit and veggies is between 7-13 servings. How many are you eating? Yes, maybe not enough. I found that if I drink a green smoothie a day I am able to reach my servings.

TIP: Start small. Create a goal for this week to drink more water, and then add the chia seeds then ditch the coffee all together. I promise you will feel better. I am also working on ditching coffee, it is hard but baby steps!
