3 Ways To Never Skip Another Workout
Proof yourself wrong, your haters wrong and get yourself ready to smash this week. Here 3 ways to never skip another workout that helps me and I hope it helps you!
1. Make a plan.
Unless you are a master in planning, go small in this one. I remember when I started doing BBG and planned my whole 12 weeks ahead (meals included) I felt overwhelmed and frustrated if something had to change. So instead, I started doing weekly plans. Instead of wasting time and putting yourself to failure, plan one week. If that is too much start with 3 days. That's it. You are starting to change habits and that feeling of accomplishment is super important. Once you have planned that week, than maybe you can plan two weeks. There is no need to plan your whole workout life, but having one week plans, will definitely help you keep yourself accountable. Also plan realistically, if you hate morning workouts don't do them, but make time to do an afternoon one. If you haven't workout in a while maybe just plan to workout 2-3 times, and build from there.
2. Schedule your workouts like if they were meetings with your boss.
and you be the BOSS. You have to take seriously taking care of you, because nobody will do it for you. So, open your calendar, YES, your work calendar and add your workouts in. Set reminders 10-15 mins before if you have to travel, get change, get some water, and do it. I add extra time in the "appointment" for showering and getting dress, I try to be realistic in how much time I will be taking. Make a different color for your workout calendar to make sure you know when is happening and where. Invite your friends to it if they are coming with you to keep yourself accountable.
3. Sign up for classes or a trainer.
Yes, this has been a massive help to me. Just think about it, you already paid your class/trainer, if you don't go you don't get refunded and in most studios you pay a cancellation or no show fee. I don't know about you, but I rather sweat for 45 mins than spend an average of $45-$50 dlls. I think is a pretty good motivation to workout, isn't?
If you are starting to workout, or want to come back after the holidays, sign up in a new studio and book your classes ahead, add them to your calendar, make your weekly plan and you will be all set!
Choose to listen to the voice inside of you that says, “I can do this! I want to do this!” Choose to ignore the voice that asks “Who do you think you are?” or says “You aren’t a real runner/workout person, just give up!” Choose to just get out and go for that run, or that workout, and live with the benefit! That’s what motivation means to me.
