#GirlGang - why you need to have one!
Life isn't all fairytales and rainbows, sometimes things get hard.
Being alone or trying to do everything on your own isn't the smartest thing. I have learned the hard way that we can't do it all, and that we need help, and we need to be able to ask for help.
Moving to a different country by myself wasn't easy, I had to start a new life, get used to the city, people, get myself around and when I was finally feeling settled I moved to Boston and I had to start from zero, again. It wasn't easy, and it was very hard trying to find myself. The one thing that completely changed my life here, was finding my girl gang.
Maybe you are starting college, a new job, traveling or just feeling alone. And if you feel that way, turn around and look for your loved ones, look for that person that has your back. Someone who you can talk to about your problems, be heard and let everything go.
If you feel alone, and that maybe you don't have someone to talk to, find your girl gang. a girl gang can be anyone you feel connected with, someone you trust and someone that can make you laugh.
I feel incredibly lucky to have more than one girl gang. I like to think that back home I have my girls, those that have seen me grow, shave half of my hair, change career a thousand times and that we together have found the way to keep in touch (we all live in different cities and countries!), my Boston girls, those girls that have seen me embark on this crazy health and fitness journey since the very beginning, heard me complain about a workout and I have seen them buying a house, getting pregnant and changing jobs! the craziest thing, is that I met these girls on the internet AKA instagram.
So, if you don't have one, don't be scared to reach out to other girls. Follow people on Instagram that inspire you and motivate you, message them, ask them for advice, if they live in your city go for a coffee together, take a fitness class, etc. Join your local spinning studio and say hi to the girl next to you, or talk to the girl next you on the train. Who cares, don't be afraid, just find a way to find the people you feel connected with and that will be there for you. I have met amazing women by just saying hello. I am not even kidding, I literally messaged a girl that is part of a blogger group I am from because she posted something awesome, and now we have become friends. I met 95% of the girls I know in Boston through Instagram. Not even kidding here.
What I want to say is that without them, I wouldn't be who I am. I wouldn't be able to dream big and try new things, and I bet you are the same, you know that if you didn't have yours, you wouldn't enjoy this crazy life as much.
To me, and I hope to you, having a girl gang means:
- Motivate each other
- Have fun
- Laugh out loud
- and always always, be there for one for another!
Above all, allow your support system to help you in any way they can. Knowing there are people who are there for you can make all the difference.
Ps: don't be shy and tell me what you thought!
