10 PODCASTS FOR HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND ENTREPRENEURIAL MAMACITAS

10 PODCASTS FOR HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND ENTREPRENURIAL MAMACITAS

1). RICH ROLL PODCAST

This is probably my favorite podcast, and listen to it religiously. Rich normally brings guests to his show and talks about who they are, their careers, etc. He does bring a few guests that are vegan, and speaks about the health benefits, but overall he brings pretty interesting people.  I have learnt a lot from his solo episodes, and enjoyed conversations and debates with his guests.

SHOW FORMAT:

Rich interviews on health, fitness, and anything in between. Sometimes he has solo episodes, or speeches he has done in the past. He is very passionate about plant based living, but you will get to listen a bit of everything, always with an emphasis on health and wellness.

THIS PODCAST IS PERFECT FOR:

  • Someone that is interested on a different type of living, a lot of of the guests are entrepreneurs, and athletes that live their lives differently.
  • Has an interested on veganism, or plant based living.
  • Wants to hear stories from athletes and entrepreneurs.

2). PLANT PROOF

Hosted by Simon Hill, an Australian qualified physiotherapist and entrepreneur, founder of Your Tea an other successful business. After Simon adopted a plant based diet, he was determined to share his knowledge online. After enrolling back school for his masters in Nutrition, Simon created his website Plant Proof, where he shares valuable information on nutrition and tips to stay active and healthy.

On his podcast, Simon continues to share this information along interviewees with industry leaders, qualified professionals, athletes or anyone with an interesting story to share to live more conscious and form healthier and more mindful habits.

SHOW FORMAT: Right after Simon's introduction, each episode goes straight into the conversation between Simon and guest, diving into a different range of topics, from the guest background to where are now, and more. A fairly new podcast, so you will only find 10 or so episodes, but from number one, the guests and Simon's interview skills have been on point.

THIS PODCAST IS PERFECT FOR:

  • Anyone interested on learning more on plant based nutrition, tips, and transition into a healthier lifestyle.
  • Anyone interested on wellness entrepreneurship
  • Anyone interested on plant based living, and connecting with the community.

3). LIVE PLANTED

I've heard about LIVE PLANTED, when it host, Alyssa, reached out me to be in it! Alyssa has been podcasting for over two years, and have had amazing guests in it. This is definitely a very vegan podcast, that discuss topics on environmentally friendly ideas, veganism tips, how make plant based living practical and fun! Not restrictive. Alyssa's guest are or have an interest on veganism, however, you can expect tons of amazing stories, like mummas, doctors, personal trainers, and everything in between. My favorite episode is this one (include the mental health ep)

SHOW FORMAT:

Every episode starts with shouts from Alyssas listeners and community on instagram, she replies to question in regards specific vegan topics, and than goes into the interview, if there's one, where Alyssa will go straight to the point with guests. Episodes tend to last 30-35 mins. Which I love! It is quick and straight to the point.

THIS PODCAST IS PERFECT FOR:

  • Someone that is seeking more information on the vegan community
  • Someone that want practical tips to veganism and zero waste life
  • If you interested in learning more on how to transition into veganism
  • That wants to connect with the vegan community

4). OSHER GÜNSBERG

This podcast has been going for four years! I recently discovered it and I'm so glad I did. There's an amazing episode on mental health that I think everyone needs to listen. Osher, an Australian television and radio presenter, has suffered from depression and social anxiety, and until recent years made it public and with his podcast he shares his ups and downs, what he does to fight it and how exercise and diet has helped him.

Among other things, Osher has weekly conversation with someone remarkable that will leave you truly inspired, for real.

SHOW FORMAT: As any other successful podcast, you will hear a small (thankfully for his) sponsored ad, right after that Osher gives a rundown on his week, exercise routine and tends to update everyone on his depression. I find this refreshing and amazing, I think is very important to share more on mental health and break stigmas, but also as men, opening about it, it is amazing. Right after he will introduce his guest and will dive into a conversation.

THIS PODCAST IS PERFECT FOR:

  • Anyone looking for inspirational stories and remarkable journeys
  • Anyone looking for motivation
  • Anyone interested on mental health and want to hear someone else perspective.

Hosted by  Dr. Jesse Chappus and Marni Wasserman, a couple with interest on health and wellness. The couple feauture guests interviews with world class experts on health and wellness, and from time to time they will have solo episodes answering questions they are passionate about.

Not Plant based as the ones above, but it is definitely interesting to listen to other wellness topics.

SHOW FORMAT: The couple starts with a quick weekly rundown and tips for their audience and quickly will go the interview. Usually interviews and topics are very interesting and they dive into different topics, from mental health to adoptegens. It is a very well rounded wellness podcast.

6). ALMOST 30 PODCAST

A very very chill-down to hearth wellness podcast. Hosted by Krista Williams, social media influencer and lifestyle blogger, and Lindsey Simcik, an actress, singer, model and SoulCycle Instructor.

7). COMING IN HOT

A very new podcast from a Boston fitness instructor, Kara Lennon. A weekly interview with the movers and shakers of the world. Kara interviews anyone that has a story to tell, that are making an impact, and it is not scare to say it how it is. Not entirely fitness, but a mix of pretty amazing peeps.

THIS PODCAST IS PERFECT FOR:

  • Anyone interested in hearing cool stories from another amazing human, not necessarily famous.
  • If you are interested in hearing Kara's sexy voice (seriously!)

8). THE HEALTH CODE

I had to include this one. It is by a well known Aussie Youtuber and her Boyfriend. Sarah and Kurt, must known as Sarah's Day and well...Kurt. What I love about their podcast is that is sooooo down to earth, chill, funny, and even tho I don't really listen to learn anything new, it is PRETTY refreshing. Plus, listening another "millennial" saying it how it is, and not making fancy or complicated it is pretty real to me.

SHOW FORMAT: It usually starts with an intro on Sarah's and Kurts week, news on their life, etc. Every episode talks about an specific "code" or topic, and than Sarah and Kurt each give their opinion on it. No guests so far, just a pretty light conversation between this 20 something couple.

THIS PODCAST IS PERFECT FOR:

  • Anyone interested on health, wellness, fitness or career
  • If you are interested in listening to a successful photographer and youtuber, on their own path.
  • Anyone that wants to laugh and just listen to something light hearted.

9). THE INFLUENCER PODCAST

This is defenetly a bit different but if you are a blogger, small business owner or simply want to know more of how all this social media thing works, than this is your podcast.

Hosted by Julie Solomon, blogger and New York Times Best-Selling publicist, who turn her blogging side hustle into a successful business, now host a podcast where she shares her tips and tricks for influencers and bloggers, interviews successful bloggers and talks about all the ins and outs of the industry.

It is very niche, so it might not be interesting to many, but I find it super useful as blogger.

SHOW FORMAT: Julie has two different types of episodes, one of them she host interviews and talks about everything in regards blogging, social media and tips from the guest. It typically last around 40-45 mins. I love the interviews, I like to hear and learn from others on my industry and what to expect or what to do.

The other type of episodes, are very short and covers an specific topic of the industry. Typically Julie will give her tips on pitching brands, how to work with brands, contracts, how to organize your time, social media tips, and more.

THIS PODCAST IS PERFECT FOR:

  • Anyone interested on blogging or social media influencing

10). THE SKINNY CONFIDENTIAL: HIM AND HER

Hosted by Lauryn Evarts and her partner Michael Bosstick, is a light, funny and somewhat informative podcast on wellness, beauty, fitness, relationships and a bit of business. Lauryn, a long time blogger, keeps it very real and her partner isn't shy.

Every week they have pretty cool guest from every industry, which keeps it interesting.

SHOW FORMAT: As many podcast, it starts with a long sponsor ad, which I typically fast forward. However, the second part it is actually pretty cool, both Lauryn and Michael give a tip of the week, sometimes is about beauty and relationships, sometimes is about business, sometimes self-care, they keep it real and I actually have applied some of those tips. Like batching! (which I will talk on another blog). Third part is the interview which they tend to be super quick and straight to point, diving into different topics.
