I'm a Btone Fitness Instructor!

WAAHHHHH! I'm finally a Btone Fitness instructor!

I've been posting about it lately and talking about the certification for a while now, but I am so happy to announced that I'm finally an instructor!

Since staring this fitness journey, I have been fascinating with group fitness classes. I love taking classes around Boston, and feel part of a community. I also love having an instructor that pushes me through class and corrects my form; and the fact that I meet people in class, and get a bit competitive with whoever is next to me (opsy!)

After a few months, teaching group fitness classes was on my to-do list.

I had no experience, and it was really hard for me to get an instructor job. Also, not being from Boston made it harder, I had literally no contacts in the industry, and believe me, it got a bit frustrating. So, last winter, I took the chance in a small place in Cambridge and ask to let me learn and teach in their studio. For a few months I taught cardio-kickboxing. I found that I loved it! I loved the rush of being in front 25-30 people, showing the moves, and getting to know them after class. I went from being super shy and doubting myself, to completely owning the class.

During that time, I wanted to learn more and teach in more places, so I auditioned at Btone! Jody invited me to get certified and join the training group that spring after my audition. After a few days, I sadly had to declined the invitation, since my schedule was crazy and couldn't make any more expenses at that time (any fitness certification that you want to take will cost you!). I was honestly devo, but I asked her to keep me in the loop for future certifications.

Summer passed, and one day I received an email from Jody inviting me to their fall certification. I quickly replied with a HELL YESS! and texted Matt with the news! I went through the training with other amazing women. We spend hours learning every move, teaching to each other, and building routines.

Although I've taught before, it seemed so hard to teach Lagree method. It had so many new names from catfish, scramble eggs, mermaid. I was so worried I wasn't going to be able to remembered all of them! But I did! our group was amazing, and super supportive. We all passed the certification and where ready to put together our mock classes.

After coming from Australia and México, I was ready to teach. So we put a few mock classes together, I brought Matt and other friends to help me practice and now I can say I'M OFFICIALLY A BTONE FITNESS INSTRUCTOR!

But before I give you my first classes schedule, let me tell you what you'll be doing a Btone.

Btone Fitness, is based on Lagree fitness. Workouts are done on a megaformer, a machine designed to strengthen, tighten, and tone the body quickly and safely. This workout is largely based on the holistic principles of Pilates, but also emphasizes the strength training and cardio elements. It is a full body workout and last 45 minutes. Is all levels, so don't be scared if you have never being here, I will show modifications and help you get the best and safest workout.

Btone Fitness has 5 locations (North End, Back bay, Lexington, Sudbury and Wellesley (soon Southie and Chestnut hill!). I will teach in Boston only (Back bay, North End and Southie). For now, I will be subbing classes as much as I can until I get my permanent schedule.

After my first mock class!

You can catch me on my first official 3 classes on:

North End. Wednesday, 28th of December at 6:20 pm, 7:15 pm & 8:05 pm.

Your can get a 3 class pack for $30 dlls, if it is your first time at Btone, so definitely take advantage of it! You can buy it HERE. If you come to my class, come and say hi! Even if you can’t make it to one of mine, try out one of the other instructors or locations–I’m so passionate about this workout, and I know you’ll love it, too!

Have you taken a megaformer class?!?!
